Im for it, not because Gays cant get married and Not because I am focused on the “sanctity of marriage”…but because I think the California Family Court system is completely biased. And if a miracle occurs and this passes, it will cripple the Family Court System in California as well as California Divorce Attorneys….I think Marriage and Divorce is a money making racket for women. If this decreases the number of marriages, I am all for it.
If they should ban divorce, why not ban marriage.

Being that two people who who decide to get married then realise it was a mistake for whatever reason decide to get divorced.

Corinthians said if you all cant get along then separate but he never said remarry. Marriage is a representation of Chirsts relationship with his bride the church that he loves unconditionally! If it gets hard separate but divorce and remarriage are forbidden! Divorce si sin and remarriage is adultery

Don’t start with that lame “your Jesus ” and ‘”what would Jesus do” as if it’s some intimidating question.
Jesus said that divorce and remarriage together, were acceptable if the grounds for the divorce was sexual immorality.
Paul said abandonment was also grounds.
The bible does permit divorce, but not for the infamous “irreconcilable differences”.

I love it….if we have to protect the sanctity of marriage we should ban divorce. A quick search revealed an estimated 4-6 million people in America are gay. If we take the low estimate, 4 mil, and say they are half women and half men, 2 mil each, now half of them get married to each other 1 million marriages. Now average 10,000 per wedding times 1 million equals 10 BILLION in revenue we are loosing! It makes sense financially to support gay marriage.
He could reuse a lot of the signs from yes on prop 8: “Keep Marriage Traditional”.
I live in CA and I would vote to end divorce if it makes the ballot. (for those of you who don’t get it, it is a retaliation against banning gay marriage)
This could actually work if LGBT and allies do this in all of the other states as well. I’m sure you can get enough signatures to put it on a ballot. I think I’m going to start something like this in my State!

Divorce is not a sin.
It is frowned upon.
Not the same thing.
That’s what we call an “analogy”. I’m not saying that getting married is the same as joining a gang. But what this guy is suggesting is gonna make getting married SIMILAR to joining a gang, that once you’re in you’re in. You said his suggestion makes people not want to get married. And using the analogy, I argued that some people are gonna do it anyway.
